East Orange, Louisiana: the abandoned town

Original archive photographs and commentary

A half-buried cash register and concrete supports are among the traces of East Orange in this collection. The photographs explore the former nightclub town beside US 90; the preserved historical account recalls the businesses that once drew customers across the Sabine.

From the original collection

Several views of East Orange.

These photos show what remains of the DeMary's night club. There are more supports like these farther east across Old US90, but the brush was so thick it mage taking photographs impossible. They may be the supports for parking of the Buster's Club.
