  1. The new airport sits between the two cities

The sheet labels Dallas–Fort Worth Regional Airport in the mid-cities. The archived description notes that most roadways around the new airport are shown as highways rather than freeways.

  2. IH-20 still has a mid-cities gap

The archived account identifies a large break in IH-20 and says it would be closed by 1976. That is a forecast written with this map, not a current-status statement.

  3. Western IH-820 remains incomplete

Most of the western IH-820 loop in Fort Worth is still missing in the archived description of the 1974 network.

DALLAS–FORT WORTH / HISTORICAL CONTEXT

A regional network with three unfinished pieces

The archived page focused on the network around the new DFW airport. It said most nearby roads appeared as highways rather than freeways, while a large gap remained in IH-20 through the mid-cities.

The same account expected the IH-20 gap to close by 1976 and noted that most of western IH-820 in Fort Worth was still missing. Those statements describe the system as it was understood when this map entered the archive.
