In May 2001, there was $40.4 million work in progress, about 70% complete.

An additional $36.5 million in contracts will be awarded in summer 2001 to complete this section of freeway.

The right-of-way will be substantially widened to about 400 feet (122m). Displacements will be minimal since most of the land in the corridor is vacant.
